Defense

In order to Preserve a More Perfect Union, a strong Military is needed for Defense.  Thanks to President Donald Trump, we have such a Military.  Our Borders must be secured and our Military must be restrained to keep our peaceful place in the World.  The Dedication of Our Military cannot be underestimated.  They must Defend the Constitution.  They must never be ordered simply to Defend the Government.

War is never a good thing.  There are no winners, just losers.  The Victors have lost lives.  There is nothing in War but Death and Destruction.  That is why War must be avoided, if at all possible.

However, when we are attacked, there is no room for Diplomacy.  War is the result of a Diplomatic Breakdown.  The United States of America has never, and should never be the cause of the breakdown.  War should not be avoided at all costs, however.  Because, that is when we shall shrink before the World's Tyranny.  Honesty and Clear Speech should be the rule of the day.  Imparting what we will, and will not tolerate.

According to the Constitution of the United States, Article I, Section 8, Congress has the duty to Declare War. 

Funding for the Military should be a Priority in that it is Promotion of the Defense of the Constitution of the United States of America.  Payroll for our Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen should be commensorate with Private Industry and other Government Employment.  There should be more incentives to making the Military a Respected Career Choice.

The Men and Women of the Military put their lives on the line every day.  We ask them to risk, and face, death on a regular basis.  We must insure they are paid well for their service, and honored in their lives.  It is the least we can do.

The current policies regarding the Strategic Oil Reserves should place about 500 million barrels of oil in the hands of the Government.  There should be at least one billion barrels within the Oil Reserve for the use of the Military.  This would go a long way toward keeping America more independant from Middle East Providers and OPEC.

There is talk currently in Congress about enacting a milage tax, to which I am opposed.  There is also talk about making fuel $5 per gallon or more through taxation of the People.  I am also opposed to this.  If we really need to augment the Highway and Infrastructure Funding, we can do this through the Strategic Oil Reserve by the Government being the only legal importer of Foreign Oil and reselling it Domestically for Refinement.

Thank you President Trump for making the United States Energy and Oil Independant.  Through your leadership, America has enjoyed the fruits of their labor during your tenure.

Veterns' Issues should be addressed as they are raised.  The current issues are:  Lack of Health Care and Benefits, Mental Health Benefits and Care, Disability Issues, and Hospital Facilities.  Also, there have been some complaints lately about the availability of Health Care generally to Veterans.  There are also some Employment Issues, and Continuation of Career, and Retention Issues which do need to be addressed

What I propose and support, once elected, is to immediatly offer legislation to reopen the Forts and Bases in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and California, along the Mexican Border.  With the Military giving assistance as needed to the Border Patrol when they have a need for Increased Firepower of Military Action, we can indeed curb the Illegal Immigration.

There should be no reason for United States Military Equipment to be made offshore, or by Foreign Entities in America.  This equipment should be manufactured in America, by Americans, using American Companies.  All Manufacturers of American Military Equipment should be limited to whom they may hire to being Native or Naturalized American Citizens.  The Manufacturers should also be able to deliver such goods to the Government at a price competitive with the Free Market.
